  17. I have installed xdvik 18b on my system this week-end, and I experience problems with  
  18. fonts lookup and generation: I had to change (in texmf.cnf) the line
  19.  
  20.     pkdir = $TEXMF/fonts//pk
  21.     
  22. to

  24.     pkdir = $TEXMF/fonts/pk
  25.

  27. (i.e. no more recursive searches) in order to have my fonts found (they are in pk/cx). I used  
  28. the kpathsea debugging flags to trace the search, and it appears that if gf directories are  
  29. correctly expanded, the pk directories are not.
  30.  
  31. The second problem is that if I move my fonts somewhere not in the lookup path,  
  32. MakeTeXPK is *not* called by xdvi.
  33.  
  34. I was using xdvik 1.8 before, and I had no problems with it (but it did not use the texmf.cnf  
  35. configuration file, nor was it able to get a bounding box from a PS file---which is why I  
  36. switched to the latest I could find).

  38. If this is not a bug but a mistake I did while installing, please forgive me (and please tell me  
  39. what I did wrong!).
